Free Live Workshop

Live on Zoom. Interactive. Real coaching in real time.

The Opener Workshop

Three ways to hook any room in the first ten seconds.

Confident communication requires control over your nervous system. That requires a systematic, proven approach. In 60 minutes, live, we build openers that engage an audience, and teach you how to control the nerves. You leave knowing what to do when the moment matters.

Why are you signing up for this workshop? This is the trust move the whole session runs on, and it has to land somewhere he can read before he goes live.

Free and interactive. Register and I'll send you the Zoom link plus a couple of reminders, so it's one less thing to think about.

Bring your real questions. Be on camera. Be ready to participate. This is coaching, not a lecture.

What you'll walk away with

You'll work the framework live and leave with something you can use in your very next talk, pitch, or meeting.

The Hook — the handful of openers that reliably earn a room's attention in the first ten seconds.

Nerves — how to change nervousness into excitement. You’re not going to “get rid of nerves.” Anyone who tells you that is lying. You’re going to learn to control them.

Your Opener — a real line built for your actual talk, ready to use the next time you're in front of people.

Live coaching — if you're brave. (I believe in you.)

Who this is for

  • You've got something coming up. A keynote, a pitch, a board meeting, a toast.

  • You know your stuff, but it's gone when it matters.

  • You're sick and tired of getting ignored, skipped over, and watching other people get credit for your ideas.

  • You know there's more you can accomplish if you improve your communication.

The shift

Earn attention first. Then your name and credentials land.

That's the whole principle. There are a handful of openers that do it reliably, and each one opens a small gap in the listener's mind that only you can close. That's the moment your name starts to mean something.

We build yours live on the call.

Here's one of my favorites.

A client of mine was getting an award and wanted to open his acceptance speech with:

The original

“Thank you for this award. My name is Mitch and I’m really thrilled to be here.”

BORING.

People would be reaching for their phones, or whispering to their friends immediately.

Here’s what we did instead:

“I feel like someone might Kanye me and take this award. But that's something I've been feeling for a long time...”

The room leaned in before he said a single word about himself. That's what a great opener does. And the rest of his speech was about how he worked through imposter syndrome to be there, and the audience ate out of his palm.

What makes this different

  • Understand your nerves and how to manage them.

  • See real openers broken down side by side, so you know exactly what's working and why.

  • Build the framework live, not just watch it explained.

  • Leave with a specific opening line for your next talk, pitch, or meeting.

  • Ask questions in real time. This is coaching, not a lecture.

“I wasn't confident in public speaking, so I shrank the mission to survival. Fill the time, be informative, don't embarrass myself too much. Working with Shauhin changed that forever. Stop filling time and start telling stories.”

“I came into You Louder as someone who freezes on stage. Legs shaking, voice quivering, winging it because I had no structure. Eight weeks later, that's changed. If you're someone who knows your stuff but loses it when the spotlight hits, this is the course.”

The one rule

Doubt your ideas all day. Never doubt yourself.

You get about ten seconds before people reach for their phone. Let's make sure yours works for you.

You'll get a couple of friendly reminders, including the Zoom link, so this is one less thing on your plate.
